An ancient religious architecture resides on top of a hill in the Kathmandu Valley, west of Kathmandu city. The stupa encapsulates one of the root disciplines in Buddhism for those individuals who consider mythological history, origin myth, and day-to-day religious practice of great importance.

This project was initially started and conceptualized by some members of "Swoyambhu Yuwa Pariwar". The idea was to design and develop an informative website illustrating in detail about the religious pilgrimage. The website was previously designed by B.I.T.S Pvt. Ltd., who assigned each members of the club to write content during their freetime on each monument available around the main religious site. Before I was involved in this project, they'd almost covered up and written mini-contents referencing to each monument around the heritage site.
During the starting phase of my involvement on the project, I had a discussion with the entire team involved in the project. I found out that the content written on the website had a lot of gramatical issues. I took the responsibility of ensuring that all the gramatical errors were fixed. Likewise, while working on the content part of the website, I could visualize that we can represent the information in the website in even creative ways. Therefore, prioritizing the User Experience, I started working on layout ideas for the website.
After completing my work on fixing the content readability issue, I started working on UI Redesign for the website. I reduced the bulky information illustrated on a single section to multiple section, with relevant images backing up the associative content. This is going to be my on-going project, and we are aiming to represent this as the Official Swoyambhu Stupa Website.
The old homepage and the newly redesigned homepage of the website has been presented below. As you can visualize, both the UI and content has been optimized and clarified for better user experience.
